Economic Growth
Columbus, OH and central Ohio at large have seen billions of dollars invested in the technology sector after major businesses like Intel, Amazon, and Meta announced development plans. In the last year, $30+ billion was invested in Ohio for technology.
Population Growth
The population of Central Ohio is projected to increase by 726,000 people over the next 25 years. This would lead to an additional 357,000 workers and 272,000 households. The Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission estimates that the region's population will triple by 2050.
Aging Ownership
Central Ohio business owners who are at or near retirement age own nearly half of the nation’s privately-held businesses. While more than half of small business owners expect to retire in the next 10 years, fewer than 15 percent have a formal exit plan in place.
